Us.

To build something good, three groups need to work well together : consultants, clients and makers. The end product will always be a reflection of these three collaborating parties.

Incidental
We are architects (or graduates of architecture), with an inherent curiosity about life, people and making. We learn from experience, reading, travel, collaboration and listening. We make things for ourselves to test them. We work across climate zones. We walk, ride, sail, surf, photograph, draw, explore. The consultants we love to work with are experts in their specialist fields. They want to improve. They are not satisfied with easy answers unless they are good answers.

Clients
The people we work for are special. They are brave, interested, principled and idealistic. They love life and people. They see a building as a platform for more than its base function. It is a hub, a refuge, an experiment, a welcome, a machine. Building is a special privilege and the people we work for recognise its incredible potential.

Makers
Builders and tradespeople are not functionaries, and they have always known that. They form teams that translate ideas and drawings into reality, and in the process they refine it. Makers know about available materials and techniques. They know when to use conventional approaches and when to challenge convention. They are people who take satisfaction in the deceptive elegance of the final product which sometimes belies the effort and consideration it took to achieve it.

We are constantly on the lookout for people who are good at what they do and love to learn from the best in every field.
